RAWALPINDI: A nine-year-old girl was found dead from the house of her neighbour in Jhanda Chichi on Monday night, police said.

According to initial police investigation, the girl had left her house to buy some sweets from a nearby shop when she went missing. Her parents started a search for her and later found her body bearing torture marks from the house of Babar Masih who lived in front of the girl’s house.

Police said the real cause of death would be known after postmortem, however, they did not rule out sexual assault. The girl’s body was shifted to DHQ Hospital and the suspect was taken into custody.
