PML-N’s Javed Latif booked on treason charge

LAHORE: Police on Saturday booked PML-N MNA Javed Latif on charges of committing treason.
A case was registered against the MNA on the complaint of a citizen, Jameel Saleem.
According to the first information report, the MNA from Sheikhupura allegedly defamed state institutions and delivered hateful remarks about them.
In a TV talk show, Latif had said: “If anything happened to PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz, the PML-N will not say Pakistan Khappay.”

Don't let such cronies get away who make anti state speeches to please their convicted and corrupt masters. They are hypocrites and black sheep of our society. Punish them accordingly to article 6.

A good decision. These rhetorics against the state institutions needs to be stopped forthwith by taking action against these politicians especially from NL, who unjustifiably malign them for political point scoring.

What we have found out it seems a lot of politicians don't care about Pakistan, but what Pakistan can give them. Pakistan have given a lot, or shall I say Pakistan have been ROBBED, by these selfish politicians. They will not stop until their looted welth is safe.

It is blatant misuse of treason charges on flimsiest of reasons. Supreme Court should take notice of such tactics against the opposition on political grounds and bring to books with serious punishment for those who make nonsense of laws by using it as their weapon to stop their opposition.

Like majority of public, I also would like to see end result so that these cronies are punished according to article 6. Otherwise, corrupt politicians will continue to incite people. Set an example!

@Fastrack , Being a patriot doesn't mean prioritizing service to government above all else, but knowing when to protect your country, Constitution, countrymen, from the violations of & encroachments of adversaries. And those adversaries don't have to be foreign countries. Goebbels was in favor of free speech for views he liked. So was Stalin. When public figures feel free to say anything, without any fact-checking, it becomes impossible for a democracy to think intelligently about big issues.
