LODGING a complaint or downloading consumer bill from the official website of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) is nothing short of driving oneself absolutely crazy.

For the last few months, SNGPL billing service has been quite poor. The consumers have to pay the bill bimonthly along with late payment charges for the preceding month.

I visited the said website to have the bill information and to download my bill, thinking if I don’t receive the bill again, I will get it printed and pay my bill within the due date. Lo and behold, the bill cannot be downloaded.

I have often tried to lodge a complaint for not receiving the bill regularly with the SNGPL website, but whenever I hit the submit button, it simply does nothing. The complaint is never submitted. Even the landline contact number for consumer complaints is unresponsive.

On the other hand, the website of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) is consumer-friendly. I easily download the duplicate bill when I don’t receive one. Once I lodged a complaint with the official website, my complaint was not only registered but also addressed at the earliest.

I urge the SNGPL consumers to try their luck with downloading the bill from its website and should they succeed, they may share the downloading procedure with the readers.
