MULTAN: The Municipal Corporation, Muzaffargarh, issued a notice to a textile mill for allegedly making illegal constructions on the state land without approval of the design of the building.

According to sources, the corporation’s enforcement inspector issued the notice to the industrial unit after a complaint was made to the deputy commissioner.

On March 16, in the notice to the administration of the textile mill on the Multan Road, the enforcement inspector stated that the construction was underway without approval of the building design, which was a violation of Section 277 (municipal offences) and Section 284 of the Punjab Local Government Act 2019.

He stated that as per Section 284 of the latter act, the corporation had the authority to demolish the building, stop the construction or issue a notice besides imposing a fine.

He directed the unit to get approval of the building design and pay the fee while in case of any loss to the lives or the properties of the common public, the mill administration would be responsible. —
