LANDI KOTAL (Khyber Agency), Oct 15: The political authorities in Landi Kotal on Friday secured the release of two kidnapped men following an operation in the Bazaar Zakhakhel area.

The recovery of Naseebur Rehman and Nadir Khan, both residents of Bannu, was made possible after the administration imposed economic sanctions on the Zakhakhel tribe and rounded up more than 60 tribesmen under the collective responsibility clause of the Frontier Crimes Regulation. The two men were abducted in Peshawar by Ehsanullah Zakhakhel and his accomplices about six weeks ago.

The Landi Kotal political authorities mounted an operation two weeks back to free the two men and in the process arrested a proclaimed offender Khiyal Bat alias Patokey.

The authorities, however, failed to arrest Ehsanullah who managed to escape from the area.—Correspondent
