QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan has said that the provincial government is working day and night for equal development of all districts of the province and providing basic facilities to the masses.

“In Quetta and other districts, work is in full swing on various projects for improvement and development of infrastructure,” he said while talking to media here on Tuesday.

He said under the Quetta development package, road construction and expansion projects in different parts of the city were being executed expeditiously.

“Work is underway on Joint Road improvement and expansion project at a cost of Rs5,048 million of which 40 per cent work has been completed. Similarly, expansion and reconstruction work of Sabzal Road is also in progress at a cost of Rs7,480m,” the CM said.

The chief minister said that a project for construction and rehabilitation of internal roads in the Sariab area at a cost of Rs1,160m was being implemented. Besides, construction and repair work of 7.6km section of Sariab Road was also underway at a cost of Rs5,443.90m and 65pc of the work had been completed.

A project was being implemented for rehabilitation and improvement of parks in Quetta, he said.

Jam Kamal said a project for construction and renovation of sports complexes in different areas of Quetta was underway at a cost of Rs494.65m.

He said work was also underway on a project for beautification and renovation of the city at a cost of Rs253.365m, of which 50pc work had been completed.
