11 of a family shot dead in Valley

JAMMU, Jan 21: Unidentified men shot dead all 11 members of a Muslim family, including eight children, in occupied Kashmir on Sunday night.

The massacre took place at Salva village, in the Mendhar area of Poonch district, some 240 kilometres northwest of occupied Jammu.

According to a police official, the killers broke into the house of Zakar Hussain during the night, and shot dead Hussain and seven of his family members.

Three other relatives injured in the attack later died of their wounds.

Indian soldiers cordoned off the village and its surroundings in a hunt for the killers.—AFP
