KARACHI: Lucky Cement Ltd in a material information disclosure statement told the PSX on Thursday: “The greenfield cement production facility in Samawah, Iraq with a capacity of 1.2m tonnes per annum has successfully commenced its commercial operations Wednesday (March 10).

The said cement production facility is a joint venture with Al-Shamookh group of Iraq”. Lucky Cement informed that with the addition of the new facility, the company’s overseas capacity now stands at 4.12 million tonnes per annum which was as follows: cement grinding plant in Basra, Iraq: 1.74 MTPA; fully integrated cement plant in Congo: 1.18 MTPA and fully integrated cement plant in Samawah, Iraq: 1.20 MTPA.—Equities Correspondent

Agri-entrepreneur programme launched

ISLAMABAD: Standard Chartered Bank has decided to launch an agri-entrepreneur programme in Pakistan to support young people recover from the economic impact of the Covid-19.

The programme is part of “Futuremakers” by Standard Chartered, the bank’s global initiative to tackle inequality by promoting economic inclusion for young people, including those affected by the pandemic.— Staff Reporter
