GILGIT: A man from Karachi hunted on Wednesday an ibex with 42 inches horns in the Hushy valley of Shigar district under the trophy hunting programme 2021.

Zaffar Syed had obtained the licence from the GB wildlife department for Rs360,000. Separately, the nine-day-long Sut Das Peace Festival concluded in Darel valley of Diamer district on Wednesday.

Competitions of polo, cricket, football, donkey race, paragliding and other games were held. Players from across GB participated in the competitions.

The final ceremony was attended by political, civil and military officials, and large number of games’ lovers.

Force Commander Gilgit-Baltistan Maj-Gen Jawwad Ahmed Qazi was the chief guest of the concluding ceremony.

A music programme was also held on the occasion. The Pakistan Army in collaboration with the local administration also arranged a free medical camp. Gen Jawwad Qazi distributed gifts and trophies among the players.

Shameful act .Look at the smile on their faces as though ,they have discoverd another Anti Chinese Virus Vaccine How I wish these beautiful animal get across to Indian side of Himalayas.Not only they would be safe but their population to would increase.I am willing to donate Rs 3 lakh to governmant if they accept my request to stop issuing license to shoot these animals. Looks like governmant of Pakistan is in dare need of hard cash. Otherwise how can they explained issuing license for just Rs 03 lakhs to hunt these beautiful animals and how about million taken to establish hunting camps and hunting license for Gulf Royals to shoot houbara bustard. In 2014, a Saudi Arabian prince and his entourage allegedly shot down 2,100 houbara bustards during a three-week hunting safari.

@IndianReader, It's common practice in all over the world, a controlled hunting. There are strict rules for hunting. No endangered wildlife is allowed to hunt. Hunting bustard is not a sport, it's a savagery by our Arab masters
