THE WEEK THAT WAS

The ARY Celebrity League | ARY, Saturdays 9.00pm

Grab some popcorn, do the chicken dance for your favourite actor such as Humayun Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui, Aijazz Aslam, Junaid Khan, Sami Khan, Navin Waqar, Ali Rehman, Nazish Jahangir and Kinza Hashmi, or your city, because Saturday night entertainment just got better. Shafaat Ali hosts an indoor cricket reality show where you watch 30 celebrities playing cricket and having quite a ball. Bolan Knights, Himalaya Heroes, Khyber Fighters, Mehran Tigers and Ravi Raiders are the teams, and each team has a mandatory woman player. There is excitement, bickering, squabbles, spontaneity and lots of fun for those who love cricket, as well as those who don’t.

What To Watch Out For

Pehli Si Mohabbat | Hum TV, Saturdays 8.00pm

The story becomes intriguing as Rakhshi’s (Maya Ali) much-maligned stepmother Nargis (Rabia Butt) clarifies to Rakhshi that she is on her side as long as the fellow Rakhshi is interested in sends a proposal, but if he doesn’t then Nargis would not let Rakhshi take any adventurous step, for the blame for Rakhshi waywardness would only go to Rakhshi’s father Faizullah (Shabbir Jan) for marrying Nargis from the red-light area. On Aslam’s (Sheheryar Munawar) front, his uncle is reluctant to marry his daughter Bushra (Hina Afridi) to the jobless Aslam. Seeing this going in Aslam’s favour, since he doesn’t want to marry Bushra, his unhappy sister Zainab (Uzma Hassan), who in the past has suffered patriarchal brother Akram’s (Hassan Sheheryar Yasin) decision to force her into an arranged marriage, encourages Aslam to take a stand for his love. Looks like there are some fireworks ahead as Hassan Sheheryar Yasin is all set to prove he is as good an actor as a designer.
