LAHORE: A labourer was allegedly tortured to death by his employer in Hanjarwal area here on Thursday.

Identified as Noor Mohammad of Shadewal, the worker demanded his wages from contractor Arif and the issue led to a heated debate.

A police official said the contractor attacked the labourer with a sharp-edged weapon and fled the scene leaving him injured critically.

He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his head and chest wounds, he said adding that the police on being alerted reached the site and shifted body to the city morgue for autopsy.
