TOBA TEK SINGH: Police claimed on Thursday to have shot dead a man who killed a woman and injured two others of his in-laws family at Kamalia.

A Kamalia Saddar police official told reporters that Khalid Bhaghela was angry with his wife as she was residing with her parents. He said Khalid came to reconcile with his wife but the exchange of word led to bloodshed.

He started indiscriminate firing on the in-laws as a result of which one woman was killed and two others were injured.

Police shifted the injured to the DHQ Hospital. Police later shot dead Khalid.

A policeman said Khalid was deranged and his father and mother had also committed suicide some years ago.

train: After the cancellation of a Lahore-to-Multan train with effect from Friday, scores of citizens of Gojra, Toba Tek Singh and Shorkot Cantonment, who had warmly received Badar Express (which was restored after a 10-year pause) on Aug 17, 2020, will be again without a train service for travelling to Lahore and Multan.

Pakistan Bhatta Mazdoor Union provincial general secretary Muhammad Shabbir has demanded withdrawal of the decision.

Citizens say buses charge high fares whereas the Badar Express would charge Rs100 and Rs200 to travel from Toba to Faisalabad and Multan.
