SUKKUR, Oct 13: The president of the Sukkur Small Traders Association, Haji Haroon Memon, has said that the traffic system in the city’s business centres and main bazaars has become a problem rather a convenience.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, Mr Memon and other office-bearers said haphazard parking of donkey-carts, rickshaws and cars was causing a public nuisance in the city.

They said pressure horns and rickshaws without silencer were adding to miseries of the people.

They alleged that traffic police could only be seen at those spots where they could extract some illegal gratification.

They demanded that the DPO Sukkur should mobilize traffic police and deploy them in business centres and main bazaars.

They demanded that illegal parking of donkey-carts, rickshaws and other vehicles at various spots in the city should be ended.

They called for a ban on use of pressure horns.

They demanded that motorcycles and rickshaws without silencer be impounded.

They urged that police should be deployed at various bazaars on the permanent basis to avert robbery incidents during the Eid season.

Mr Memon said truck stand had once again established on the Bunder Road which earlier had shifted.

He said the transporters have established their offices and dozens of trucks were parked there blocking traffic.

He said the entry of trucks was banned on the Bunder Road in day time but now the ban had been ended and truck stand had been established.

He demanded that high ups should immediately ban entry of trucks on the Bunder Road.
