KARACHI, Oct 13: The meeting of Parliamentary Party of the Sindh government’s coalition parties was held here at Chief Minister House on Thursday with Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim in the chair.

The meeting expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic incident of earthquake in various parts of Pakistan claiming thousands of lives and leaving a large number of people seriously injured and shelter less.

The meeting prayed to Almighty Allah to place the departed souls in the Janatul Firdaus and for early recovery of the injured and giving courage to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss.

The chief minister congratulated the members of the Sindh Assembly belonging to the coalition partners on their success in the recently held local body polls.

He appreciated the efforts and performance of all the members and urged them to make preparations for the forthcoming general elections scheduled to be held in 2007.

Dr Arbab said that the development process would be initiated in all parts of the province and funds would be allocated for public oriented projects.

The meeting urged the people of Sindh, social workers, volunteers and the elected representatives including nazims, MPAs and MNAs to fully participate in the relief efforts to help the quake victims.

Various other matters also came under discussion during the meeting.—APP
