SUKKUR: Ghulam Qadir Bhutto, a contractor who along with a deputy commissioner and three municipal administrators of Qambar-Shahdadkot was convicted in a corruption case on Saturday, died in Sukkur jail the next day.

Jail Superintendent Raja Mumtaz said on Monday that Bhutto suffered a fatal cardiac arrest on Sunday, adding that he had been suffering from some illnesses since his arrest and receiving treatment in the jail’s hospital for some days.

The body was handed over to the heirs after a post-mortem examination, the official added.

Sukkur Accountability Court Judge Fareed Anwar Qazi had convicted the four officials, three contractors and four others in a NAB reference.
