HYDERABAD: A two-year-old girl died on Friday after she was attacked and bitten by stray dogs in the Sindh University Colony in Jamshoro the previous night.

Emaan, daughter of Zulfiqar Sehto, was taken to the Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) in a critical condition where she died during treatment.

She along with her maternal grandmother and two brothers was going to the house of SU’s record keeper Shaman Abbasi when she was attacked by three stray dogs.

The Jamshoro police registered a case against SU union council secretary Zakir Baloch.

Jamshoro Deputy Commissioner Fariduddin Mustafa has directed officials of the local government, revenue and other departments to launch an anti-dogs campaign in the district. He also directed that availability of anti-rabies vaccine at all health centres in the district be ensured.
