HARIPUR: The Khanpur police have arrested a man for allegedly molesting a seven-year-old boy in Tofkiyan village here, officials said on Friday.

They quoted the victim’s father as saying that his son was playing outside his house when Zeeshan from the same village took him to his home on the pretext of giving a kite, where he molested him.

When the boy returned home his mother noticed his condition and informed her husband. Thereafter, he was taken to the Khanpur police station for registration of a case.

The police got the victim medically examined with the preliminary medical report proving that the boy was sexually molested. Later, they registered a case against the accused under section 377 of PPC and 53 of the Child Protection Act. The police claimed to have arrested the accused.

Separately, a man stabbed his wife to death for allegedly demanding divorce in Kangra Colony, officials said on Friday.
