KARACHI: The administrative judge of the antiterrorism courts on Monday remanded in judicial custody 13 suspects for their alleged involvement in an attack on the Geo TV and Jang Media Group’s offices in Karachi.

Police booked and arrested the suspects for vandalising the central offices of Geo and Jang on Sunday over an edited video snippet from a television programme that had reportedly hurt their sentiments.

The media house maintained that its offices were attacked despite issuing an apology and clarification.

On Monday, the investigating officer produced the suspects before the administrative judge to seek their 14-day physical remand in police custody for interrogation and investigation.

The IO said that the alleged ringleader of the attackers, Mushtaq Sarki, was still at large and to trace his whereabouts the detained suspects needed to be interrogated.
