HYDERABAD, Oct 12: The Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union at a meeting here at the Old Powerhouse on Wednesday severely criticized victimization of the maintenance and testing wing workers on false charges.

The provincial joint secretary of the union, Azam Khan, presided over the meeting which was also attended by the office bearers of M and T wing of Hesco.

The meeting claimed that the poor workers were always punished whenever they detect theft of electricity by the relatives of high officials.

The meeting demanded that the two workers, Bux Baloch and Abid Hussain, should be reinstated and an inquiry committee should probe their suspension.

SUSPENSION: The chief executive of Hesco, Maqbool Ahmed Khoja, has suspended two SDOs, Zafar Solangi and Ashok Kumar, on Tuesday of the upper Sindh on the charges of inefficiency.

The suspension orders were issued after the Hesco chief was briefed by the superintending engineer of the Sukkur division about their performance.

Mr Khoja warned that strict action would be taken against those officials who failed to check power theft and recovery of the outstanding dues.

CAMPAIGN: The Hyderabad DCO has directed all DDOs revenue, Mukhtiarkars and TMOs having powers of judicial magistrates to expedite anti-price hike campaigns within their areas.

He was presiding over a meeting of the concerned officers at his office on Tuesday.

The DCO asked the officers to ensure supply of all essential commodities to citizens at the prices set by the government and directed them to take severe action against hoarders and black marketeers.

He directed the officials that the fixed-prices’-lists should be supplied to shopkeepers and be displayed prominently.
