KARACHI: Muttahida activist shot dead

KARACHI, Oct 12: An activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was shot dead by unknown persons in front of Garden police headquarters on Wednesday. SHO Nabi Bukhsh said that Feroz alias Fauji was going on his motorcycle when unknown persons opened fire on him.

Feroz suffered 10 bullets causing his instant death, he said.

The deceased was an activist of the Muttahida’s Lyari sector, police said. Police said several criminal cases were pending against the deceased in different police stations.

WOUNDED: A police official was injured when unknown persons opened fire on him on Jehangir Road. SI Abid Shah was reportedly active in the notorious Karachi operation. A young boy was also injured in the firing, police said.

Police said SI Abid Shah was heading for his duty at the Preedy police station from his home in Liaquatabad.

Police said as Abid Shah reached near the main Grumandir, unknown persons opened fire at him and fled.

The SI was rushed to Civil Hospital where he was stated to be in a serious condition. Hospital sources said that victim had suffered multiple bullet wounds. The boy was also shifted to the CHK for treatment.
