LAKKI MARWAT: A man and his two sons were shot dead over irrigation water dispute in Bannu district on Sunday.

The police said Musharraf Khan shot and killed Dost Ali and his sons, Junaid Khan and Kifayatullah (a constable), in Ghairatkhel Mashal Kallay locality of Ghoriwala town.

They said the killer escaped the place, and the bodies were shifted to the district headquarters hospital for autopsy.

A case was registered against the killer in Ghoriwala police station.

Also, a villager Rehmatullah was murdered over a property dispute in Bandikhel Janikhel area of Bannu.

The police said Islam Khan, Mameydar, Abdul Hameed, Shawar and Jamal were named in the FIR, who escaped the area.

The police said the body was handed over to the relatives after fulfilling medico legal formalities in the DHQ hospital.

In a separate development, the Lakki Marwat police on Sunday claimed to have arrested several drug traffickers and seized a huge quantity of hashish from them.

Acting on a tip-off, Shaheed Haibat Ali Khan police intercepted a car on Wanda Banochi checkpost near Darra Pezu town and seized 14kg hashish from its hidden cavities, said an official, adding the cops arrested two drug peddlers, Waqas and Noman of Kohat, and registered a case against them.

Serai Gambila police raided different places in Bakhmal Ahmadzai village and captured Naimatullah, Gul Sahib and Noman with 2,470 gram hashish, said the official. He said two drug traffickers, Irshad and Sifatullah, were held in Kurrum Par area with 1,780 gram hashish.
