NAROWAL: Thieves made off with cash and jewellery worth Rs3.5 million from a trader’s house on Friday night.
Muhammad Irfan, a resident of Islampura, had gone to Lahore with his family to attend a wedding event. A gang of thieves taking advantage of heavy fog entered the house and got access to cash, jewellery and other valuables which they took away in school bags.
Irfan said three families live in the house and thieves broke the locks of all the bedrooms and cupboards and took away valuables worth Rs3.5 million.
City SHO Tauheedur Rehman reached the spot and police sought help of the officials of the Crime Scene Investigation. They collected evidence after which police registered a case.
The traders condemned the incident and demanded that Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar order earliest arrest of the thieves.
