KARACHI, Oct 11: The Chief Secretary, Fazalur Rehman, on Tuesday asked the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board to take immediate action for addressing acute water shortage problems in various areas of the city.

According to details, the chief secretary’s office has received complaints that there is an acute shortage of water in many areas of the city including Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Korangi, Lyari and Clifton from the last 10 days.

The chief secretary asked the KWSB to immediately repair choked waterlines in case water supply was affected due to them. He ordered that close vigil be kept on employees posted at valve stations and water pumps.

Mr Fazal ordered that a survey of Korangi B-51, Korangi East B Area, Suhail Terrace, Bilal Centre Gulshan-i-Iqbal Block 5, Gulshan-i-Iqbal Block 3, Lyari and Clifton, should be done at once and these areas should be supplied water within 24 hours.
