QUETTA, Jan 21: The chief justice of Balochistan High Court, Raja Fayyaz Ahmed, has emphasized upon the police officials to fulfil all legal requirements and collect concrete evidences against suspects before submitting case against them so that they could not dodge the court by getting the benefit of doubt.

Speaking to the police officials at a certificate distribution ceremony at the end of the training course at the Police Training School, here on Monday, he said that for the investigation of the cases regarding terrorist activities the investigation officer must be professionally competent and knowing the legal aspects.

He said that the court could punish a suspect only when the prosecution presents concrete evidence and witnesses against him during the trial. He said that investigation officer should prepare the case keeping in view all the legal aspects before presenting it in the court of law for trial.

Justice Ahmed expressed his happiness over organizing the first training course for police officers and other staff in the light of Supreme Court’s suo motu.

He said that various legal experts and other important personalities have given lectures to the under training police officers in view of their experience, which would help them in their practical life and they would be able to fulfil their professional responsibilities in a better way.
