KARACHI, Oct 11: Two ships carrying diesel oil and chemicals were anchored at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday. In the meanwhile, a container ship was berthed at the QICT. Berth occupancy stood at 78 per cent as seven ships, Socotra, Sealand Mariner, Hyderabad, Evangias-L, Dococmo Esna and Pacific Breeze, were busy in loading and unloading rice, containers, edible oil, sugar, seeds and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 55,785 tons comprising 43,992 tons of import and 11,793 tons of export tonnage was handled. Sailing was slow as only Socotra left the port while Docomo was due top depart. Four ships, Warbah, Yanaseni, Golden Oceania and Tian Da, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
