TAXILA: District and Sessions Judge Attock Syed Naveed Raza Bokhari has said cooperation between bar and bench was vital for timely dispensation of justice. He expressed these views while addressing a function held in honour of newly-appointed judges in the district.

He stressed the need to dispense expeditious justice to litigants at their doorsteps both by bench and bar.

He said he was confident that the newly-enrolled judges would make all-out efforts to assist the bench in dispensation of justice to the litigants.

“Law is a most respectable profession and provision of justice is only possible through the hard work of lawyers and judges.” He expressed the hope that the judges would work for the supremacy of the Constitution, rule of law and independence of the judiciary.

Chairman Discipline Committee and member Punjab Bar Council Malik Israr Ahmad said 3,900 applications of lawyers were lying pending for the last six months and decisions on these would be taken on merit soon. He said action against those having fake degrees will also be taken.

District Bar President Khalid Mehmood Shahzeb said the bench and bar had a close relation and this relation will be maintained all times. He also informed the district and sessions judge about the problems being faced by the district bar.
