QUETTA: Mr Khair Mohammad Baluch, President, Baluch Students Organisation in Baluchistan, strongly criticised the statement of the joint secretary NAP [National Awami Party] (Wali group), Mr. Ajmal Khattak, in which he had stated that the entire territory ranging from Bolan to Chitral was part of Pakhtoonistan. In a joint reminder to Mr. Khattak yesterday [Feb 5] the BSO chief asked him to re-study history and geography before issuing such statements as neither Bolan nor Chitral ever constituted part of Pakhtoonistan.
The BSO leader conceding the demand for re-demarcation of boundaries of West Wing on linguistic and cultural lines said that historical facts cannot be altered. In this context, citing the examples of Khangarh (Jacobabad) and Deras in NWFP, Mr Baluch said they formed part of Baluchistan and “we shall continue our struggle to merge them in Baluchistan”.
[Meanwhile, as reported by an agency in Sukkur] Retired Air Marshal Asghar Khan has announced here that he has set up a committee to reorganise his party politically in the provinces of Sind and Baluchistan. … Air Marshal further said that two groups have been formed to tour round the provinces to establish offices of the party....
