SUKKUR: Activists of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) held a demonstration at Rohri bypass near Sukkur on Sunday in protest against Prime Minister Imran Khan’s criticism of their leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Leading the protest, Maulana Abdul Karim Abbasi, Mufti Shafi Mohammad, Maulana Ghulam-Ullah Halejvi and others condemned the prime minister’s recent statement against the JUI-F chief, saying that the remarks “bespoke his utter ignorance and incompetence”.

They alleged that the ruling party was hatching conspiracies against Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Sindh but JUI-F activists would foil all the conspiracies.

They expressed serious concern over rising price hike and unemployment in the country and said that people had now become disappointed in the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government.

They were, therefore, taking to the streets in ever greater numbers on the call of the Pakistan Democratic Movement leadership that had waged a consistent struggle for forcing the present government to quit, they said. They said the PDM chief Maulana Fazl would address a big public meeting at Jamia Hammadia Manzilgah on Feb 11 and would give a befitting response to delinquent rulers.

Earlier, the protesters raised slogans against the federal government at the demonstration.
