Car parking mafia

Published January 29, 2021

THERE is a mafia that facilitates car parking in many areas across Karachi. This racket has been going on for years, and it is not possible that this ‘business’ is being run without the help of the higher-ups.

Elements of the mafia are active in the vicinity of I.I. Chundrigar Road, the surroundings of M.A. Jinnah Road. One also finds touts of this mafia around popular superstores and major city hospitals. I have to visit Medicare hospital often and have to pay Rs50-100 for a parking space. Whenever I visit the area, I am poorer by at least Rs100. Will the authorities concerned stop this nuisance?
