KARACHI, Oct 9: Chairman of the Senate Committee on Defence, Senator Nisar Memon, who is also Senior Vice-President of the PML, has expressed his profound grief over the loss of life in Saturday’s earthquake that rocked many parts of the country and Azad Kashmir.

In a message, he offered condolences to the bereaved families and expressed sympathy with the injured.

NPP chairman Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi has also expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives and widespread damage in the earthquake.

He stressed the need for immediate provision of medical and financial assistance to the victims both by the government and well-off segments of the society.

Vice-Chancellor of the University of Karachi Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, expressing his sorrow and grief over the loss of many lives in the earthquake, urged people from all walks of life to help their brethren in distress.—APP/PPI
