KOLKATA, Oct 8: After being ruled out of Challengers Series with an elbow injury, Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly expressed hope he would regain full fitness and be ready for coming home series against Sri Lanka.

“I will probably play in Sri Lanka series,” Ganguly said here on return from Mumbai where he was examined by team physio John Gloster and BCCI’s medical panel chief Anant Joshi.

He said he would follow regime prescribed by Joshi in next few days to be fit before seven-match one-day series against Sri Lanka starting on Oct 25.

Ganguly, who was diagnosed with a ‘mild tennis elbow symptom’, however, refused to go into details about his injury, saying “Gloster and Joshi have made a statement, and I’ll stick to that.”

He has been asked to take rest for ten days after which he would have to appear before Joshi and Gloster in Mumbai on Oct 17 for a reassessment of his fitness.—Agencies
