LAHORE: The city police claimed on Friday to have arrested a man involved in illegally selling of weapons and ammunition.

Nawankot In-charge Investigation Qamar Sajid, along with his team, received an intelligence report about arms dealer Ahmad Ali from Sodiwal, Multan Road, for selling and repairing weapons. Police conducted a raid at his shop Rana Arms and the suspect failed to produce any permission from the Punjab Home Department for selling and repairing the weapons.

Police recovered 43 shotguns, seven automatic rifles, nine revolvers, 32 pistols and more than 25,000 bullets and cartridges. The suspect was involved in illegal sale of weapons for quite some time. Police also registered a case against the suspect.

CCPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogar has issued directions to police to free Lahore from illegal weapons .
