TAXILA: The Jand Police on Monday foiled a bid to smuggle narcotics from Kohat to Punjab and arrested two smugglers.

Police sources said during a checking of a Rawalpindi bound passenger van coming from Kohat,13.7 kg hashish was recovered from the luggage of passengers.

During preliminary interrogation, both the accused have confessed that they had been working for an interprovincial gang of drug smugglers and were smuggling the drugs from KP to Punjab.

Jand police have registered a case against the suspects under section 9-C of Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA) 1997 and started further investigation.
