KARACHI: Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Nasr sailed off on a mission of humanitarian assistance and disaster relief to African countries on Sunday.

The mission is tailored to assist the vulnerable population affected by natural disasters. PNS Nasr is carrying food aid for flood-stricken and drought-ridden African countries.

During deployment, the ship will provide assistance at Djibouti, Sudan and Niger. It will also undertake a goodwill visit to Mombasa, Kenya.

The deployment of PNS Nasr is undertaken in close coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is in line with the government’s engage Africa policy that seeks to enhance bilateral relations and explore new avenues of cooperation with African countries.
