PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has said that all public gatherings of Pakistan Democratic Movement in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have failed as people rejected its narrative.

He said that PDM had got nothing to do with democracy or public interest rather its leaders wanted reconciliation to save the wealth accumulated by plundering the public exchequer, according to a statement issued here on Friday.

He made it clear that Prime Minister Imran Khan would never give them NRO and they would be held accountable for their corruption.

Says PTI govt to complete its term

The chief minister expressed these views while talking to mediapersons here during the oath-taking ceremony of newly-elected cabinet of Nowshera Press Club. Special assistant to CM for information Kamran Bangash and officials of information department were also present on the occasion.

The chief minister said that PDM was an alliance of rejected political parties gathered to save their corruption. He added that these so-called politicians were trying to deceive people in the name of democracy.

The chief minister said PTI had been voted for ‘change’ and to root out corrupt practices in the system.

Answering a question, he stated that the provincial government would complete its five-year term and also come into power again with public support.

About the two and a half years performance of his government, Mahmood Khan said the provincial government had done everything to put this province on the path of rapid development.

He said several mega projects would be completed within the given timelines.

He said the government had decided to provide monthly honorarium to prayer leaders across the province by July 1 this year whereas extension of Sehat Card Scheme to all population of the province would be completed by end of this month.

Mahmood Khan said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the first province to devise its food security policy under which short-, mid- and long-term measures had been proposed to achieve self-sufficiency in agricultural production.

The chief minister said that work on a number of economic zones and various communication projects was in full swing and efforts were underway to provide maximum employment opportunities to people.

Mahmood Khan said the government believed in free media.

He said the provincial government would take all possible steps for the welfare of journalist community.

He directed the information department to come up with a plan to resolve issues related to the media colonies in the province.
