HYDERABAD: A five-day anti-polio drive will be launched from Jan 11 and 2.15 million children under the age of five will be vaccinated in nine districts of Hyderabad division after ensuring all proper and mandatory arrangements following the standard operating procedures related to Covid-19.
This was stated by Hyderabad Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Abbas Baloch while presiding over a meeting of the Hyderabad divisional task force held at his office the other day, attended by all deputy commissioners of the division through video-link.
He said polio eradication was a top priority of the government.
He said status of all the dysfunctional health facilities in the division should be identified by the respective DCs for making them operational. He directed all the DCs to ensure polio drops at toll plazas of their respective districts called permanent transit points (PTPs).
He said that the campaign would be kicked off in Tando Allahyar.
