Freight subsidy

Published October 7, 2005

KARACHI, Oct 6: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has called for implementation of the notification about freight subsidy to leather garments exporters, dated February 21, 2005.

A large number of cases from potential exporters for refund of freight subsidy were pending with the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), blocking their huge working capital and confining their operations.

The federation in a statement issued here on Thursday called upon the authorities to take the matter seriously as the subsidy to garment exporters would help this potential value-adding sector grow on fast track for ultimate benefit to the economy. —APP
