Three killed in pile-up due to fog

SHEIKHUPURA: In two fog-related accidents in the district, three people were killed while 20 others sustained injuries, of them seven serious, on Friday.

A pile-up accident took place on the motorway near Sharaqpur Sharif interchange, where four cars hit each other due to poor visibility. Three car passengers identified as Khalid, Afshan Bibi and Ansar died while four others suffered injuries; two of them are stated to be in a serious condition.

The injured people were shifted to the Sharaqpur THQ Hospital, and of them, two were taken to a Lahore hospital. The Sharaqpur police have started an investigation.

The second accident occurred on Naranag-Kala Khatai Road where a bus skidded off the road and fell into a ditch. Sixteen passengers got injured and were shifted to Shahdara hospital. Of them, three were shifted to a Lahore hospital.

The Ferozewala police are looking into the matter.
