MULTAN: The Multan Waste Management Company (MWMC) has issued a notice to its operations manager for concealing facts regarding his qualification and experience.

The procurement manager has also been asked to submit his experience certificate which is missing from his recruitment and personal files.

The show-cause notice issued on Dec 21 states that on Nov 3 Operations Manager Dawood Makki was directed to provide his educational and experience certificates. The manager responded to the letter with a written reply on Nov 5 which was “unsatisfactory and contradictory to the personal file”.

As per advertisement, the qualification for the post is Master in Business Administration along with other qualifications, but Makki has concealed the facts and presented the marksheet of Master in Public Administration, which is not relevant to the post. Makki also misstated while referring to the degree of MBA with specialisation in HRM but he did not produce the same. He also failed to provide the experience certificates of seven years as was required.

Makki has been asked to submit a satisfactory reply in three days.

Also, Procurement Manager Muhammad Aleem has been asked to provide his employment history as his experience certificates are also missing from his recruitment and personal files.

In 2018, despite a ban on recruitment by the provincial government, the MWMC issued an advertisement on Nov 14 for recruitment while requesting applications for the posts of manager operations, manager workshop and fleet management, manager procurement and contract, manager finance, manager MIS/IT, manager admin and HR, deputy manager operations, deputy manager accounts, deputy manager admin and HR, deputy manager IT, assistant manager admin and HR, assistant manager accounts and assistant manager IT, two posts of assistant accounts officers and four each posts of executives and officers. According to the manual, the GM (HR&A) would perform the functions relating to the recruitment of personnel but the entire recruitment process was initiated without involving the HR department that was lacking the staff and instead of going to hire the GM (HR&A) first, the authorities concerned hired other staff.

Sources said that instead of conducting two rounds of interviews (initial and second), the procedure was violated to accommodate favourite candidates by conducting only one interview.
