ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) on Tuesday launched its Facebook page and Twitter account.

“We are pleased to announce the launching of our two social media tools,” a joint statement issued by PFUJ President Shahzada Zulfikar and Secretary General Nasir Zaidi said.

“This was a much-awaited step which we have finally taken and it will help us expand our reach.” They said that the launching of the two social media tools had almost coincided with the launch of the PFUJ’s book on its 70 years of struggle for freedom of expression and economic rights of media workers.

The book, titled “From Layoffs to Lashes”, is likely to be launched within a fortnight.

The PFUJ said its official Facebook account is https://www.facebook.com/officialpfuj while its Twitter account is https://twitter.com/OfficialPfuj.

Mr Zulfikar and Mr Zaidi asked the union members to visit these accounts and re-tweet the PFUJ messages and other material from their Twitter accounts to make them the most visited sites.
