DADU: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader Liaquat Ali Khan Jatoi, who had grown disillusioned with the leadership over the party’s two years in power, has apparently mended fences with the prime minister in a recent meeting in Islamabad and got a new assignment to make contacts with all disgruntled PTI leaders and anti-PPP forces in Sindh.

Sources in PTI told Dawn that Jatoi, who had remained former Sindh chief minister, had already started working on his assignment by establishing contacts with anti-PPP leaders.

The sources said that the senior politician would be made senator in upcoming election of the upper house. He would most likely be given a very important responsibility in federal government after Senate election, said the sources.

PTI leader Dr Abbas Mahesar said that Liaquat Jatoi’s meeting with the prime minister remained meaningful and it was decided in the meeting two days back that Jatoi along with other PTI leaders and anti-PPP forces would take on PPP in Sindh.

Mr Jatoi confirmed that his meeting with the prime minister remained very fruitful. He had briefed him about worsening situation in Sindh and mega corruption by PPP in Sindh government, he said.

He said that he had invited the prime minister to visit Betto Jatoi village and meet local party leadership. Imran Khan had accepted his invitation and he would visit the village in January, he said.

The sources said that Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and President Dr Arif Alvi had arranged Jatoi’s meeting with the prime minister.
