Highway police being organized

ISLAMABAD, Jan 20: The highway police will be organized on the entire Karachi-Lahore-Peshawar national highway by December on the pattern of the Motorway Police.

This was disclosed by federal communications secretary Iftikhar Rashid at a meeting held here to discuss performance of the Motorway Police as well as matters related to the posting of the highway police.

The secretary said the government had already organized the highway police on the Rawalpindi-Peshawar and Karachi-Hyderabad sections of the national highway.

He said the national highway/motorway police would establish drivers’ training schools to control accidents.

The secretary said the performance of the Motorway Police was being appreciated at the public level.— Reporter
