MITHI, Oct 3: Pensioners of Thar have requested the State Bank of Pakistan and the National Bank of Pakistan to continue with the old policy of drawing pensions. According to the old rule they had to fill a pension form but now they deposit pensions in their accounts first and then draw it by cheque.

Pensioners Maulvi Hayat, Sahib Dino Nohri, Mohammad Luqman, Gul Mohammad, Parumal, Hemraj, and Harisingh said that they used to get pension on the first date of every month from the National Bank.

They said the previous method was easy for the pensioners from remote areas as they could return home on the same day.

“The new process of opening account, depositing pension and then drawing it through cheque is definitely difficult for the aged pensioners. So it should be abolished”, they said.
