KE bills

Published December 6, 2020

I AM a senior citizen and I have been regularly paying my electricity bills ahead of time even during the ongoing pandemic. However, of late I have encountered problems in making timely payments as the bills are not being delivered on time.

I have sent several reminders to the KE authorities, but have received no satisfactory answer from the power utility. In a recent interaction with the KE staff regarding my complaint, an employee told me this was not his problem and I should go to a photostat shop which also offered facilities dealing with computer-related work to get my bill printed. This is preposterous!

The KE management should realise that every electricity consumer may not own a computer along with a printer. And, further, it is the power utility’s responsibility to ensure that consumers get their bill with ample time to pay.

The power utility has not been sending bills for several months. Previously, I had worked out a solution as several of the KE branch offices were still functioning where one could go to obtain a duplicate bill.

In recent months, many of these offices have been closed. It has now become difficult, especially for senior citizens like me, to travel long distances to obtain a copy of my monthly bill. I request the KE management to ensure the timely dispatch of monthly bills.
