Transporters threaten to block road

SHIKARPUR, Jan 20: A group of local transporters threatened to block the Shikarpur-Jacobabad road if their demand was not accepted.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, the group led by Yar M. Brohi, Faiz M. Brohi, Dhani Bux Brohi, Noor Ahmed Brohi, and Abdul Wakeel Brohi alleged that Abdullah Pathan, Papoo Pathan and Ghous Bux Khoonharo had intercepted coasters at gunpoint on Friday and beaten up conductor Abdul Wakeel Brohi, cleaner Abdul Ghani Brohi and driver Faiz M. Brohi who were also the owners of the coasters.

They said that when the injured staff of the coasters went to the Sultankot police station for lodging an FIR, the SHO refused to register the case and favoured the attackers who belonged to influential tribes.

They blamed the SHO for delaying the registration of the FIR against the accused, and demanded the DIG, Larkana, the SSP, Shikarpur, and the district Nazim, Shikarpur, to get their FIR lodged against the accused.

KILLED: A villager, Huzoor Bukhsh, was shot dead by his rivals in village Darvesh Kakepota on Friday evening on account of an old enmity.

The New Faujdari police have lodged a case against Rahim Bukhsh, Jehangir, Baz Mohammad, Asghar, Gulshan Brohi and an unidentified accused.
