Three labourers electrocuted

LAYYAH: Three labourers were electrocuted while erecting a tent for a wedding ceremony on Friday when an iron pole of the tent touched the main electric supply line. Three labourers who were also injured were shifted to the Fatehpur Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.

The labourers were erecting the tent for the wedding ceremony of Shoaib, a local resident, when the iron pole touched the overhead main electricity line. The deceased included Mubashir, 23, of Chak No 263 TDA), and Asad besides an unidentified person, who is said to be the resident of Bhakkar. Three other labourers, however, survived the shocks.

Rescue services shifted injured Muhammad Shehzad, 23, Ashfaque Ahmed, 18, and Umair Waseem, 24, to the Fatehspur hospital, and of them Ashfaque and Shehzed were then referred to DHQ hospital Layyah due to their serious condition.
