FAISALABAD: The body of a young girl, who was kidnapped from her house at Dhanola village on Tuesday, was found in the fields there on Wednesday.

The unidentified kidnapper had shot her mother dead when she tried to foil the kidnapping.

Submitting an application to police, Irfan Sohail of Taj Colony stated an unidentified armed man barged into the house of his sister-in-law Kausar Bibi alias Sidra, and took her daughter Sawera hostage at gunpoint.

He said when Sidra tried to resist, the suspect opened fire, killing her on the spot. He said the suspect bundled Sawera into a car and drove away.

Police said on Wednesday, locals found Sawera’s body in a village field and informed them.

They said investigation into the kidnapping and killings had been initiated.

The police said the footage of a closed-circuit TV camera installed near the victims’ house had also been obtained, which showed a suspicious white car in the street.

They said the registration number of the car was visible in the footage, hoping this would provide a clue to the killer(s).

THREE KILLED: Three people were killed and four others sustained injuries in two different accidents on Wednesday.

Rescue 1122 officials said that in a collision, near Chak 465 Adda on Samundri Road, involving two cars and a stationary truck, two men identified as Danish, 34, and Bilal, 30, were killed and four others sustained injuries.

The condition of two of the injured -- Usman and Irfan -- was said to be critical and they were shifted to the Samundri Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.
