NAROWAL: A man and his son were killed and two women of their family seriously injured by their relative on Monday in Zafarwal.

Muhammad Zubair, of Jalilpur village in Zafarwal tehsil, and his cousin Muhammad Azam, of Jhandiala village, had a family dispute.

Azam with his 10 accomplices shot at and injured Zubair, his father Kale Khan and family members Naseem Akhtar and Faiza Bibi in their home. Suspects fled the scene. Kale died at the scene while other injured were shifted to the Narowal District Headquarters Hospital where Zubair was received dead.

Dr Muhammad Bilal, on duty doctor in the emergency ward, said the condition of both women was out of danger. A large number of police personnel rushed to the crime scene, seized the body of Kale Khan and started investigation.

Sakhawat Ali, brother of slain Kale Khan, said the deceased was an army personnel. He said Zubair was recently married. He said Azam shot dead Kala Khan and his son over a dispute that started on the telephone. A case under the provisions of murder and attempted murder was registered against Azam, Asif, Muhammad Saleem, Muhammad Tayyab, Hafeez Ullah, Miraj Din and four unidentified people on the request of Sakhawat Ali. The Zafarwal police handed over the bodies to the kin after postmortem and necessary legal action.
