LARKANA: Two policemen were on Monday convicted for violating court sanctity by laying hands on an absconder and in their attempt manhandling the official in charge of security at the court in Warah town in 2017.

Anti-Terrorism Court Larkana judge Ahmed Luqman Memon sentenced the policemen, Allah Rakhiyo Hulio and Mumtaz Gopang, to two years imprisonment for arresting absconder Ashique Wahucho on the Warah court premises and injuring the security official upon being restrained from violating court sanctity.

A case against the two policemen was registered at the Warah police station soon after the incident and since then they had been on bail.

As soon as the court pronounced its judgement on Monday, the policemen were arrested and sent to the central prison.
