BAJAUR: The International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) on Sunday disturbed wheelchairs among the special persons at a ceremony at the office of the All Bajaur Disabled Persons Association in Khar.
On the occasion, ICRC representative Sanaullah said funds for wheelchairs had earlier been allocated for sports activities in the tribal districts, but due to the second Covid-19 wave the organisation had diverted the money to purchase wheelchairs for the special persons across the merged areas.
The ICRC representative said each differently able person would be provided wheelchair to enable them to move around independently.
Representatives of All Bajaur Disabled Persons Association, including president Bakhtwar Jan and general secretary Tehsil Khan, were also present.
MEDICAL CAMP: The Frontier Corps (FC) on Sunday arranged a free medical camp for the people of hilly areas of Salarzai tehsil.
The camp was held in remote Ghakhi area, where 1,485 people, including women and children, were provided free treatment and medicines.
A team of specialist doctors and the support staff participated in the daylong medical camp.
Most of patients were suffering from flu, cough and throat infections.
